Barlow Carnival 10k

PVP runners were Sam, Lex and I, with Leah there as support (well, supporting the local pubs of Barlow...). The conditions were pretty dismal to be honest, with a fair bit of standing water around. None of us had raced this before with no idea of the route or terrain. We would find out it is predominantly road running through country lanes with about a mile long hill climb through the wood on trail type surface. It was well suited for my running style, with plenty of sections for opening the legs up (oooerrr) and getting a good pace on.

An enjoyable, well run event with free chip butties at the end. A couple of nice pints of Three Valleys by Barlow Brewery, topped of by a top ten result for Sam (8th) and a pleasing 31st for myself (100 runners) especially with plenty of club runners there from Totley and N. Derbyshire. Apologies to Lex, who had left before the results were released, as I didn't know your number to check it.

All in all, a great wet Friday in Derbyshire and a proper race back on the board for myself after what seems like a long time away from it.
